Description:
In this drill, we will work on developing our CONCENTRATION by paying attention to our stances and foot placement while being challenged to stand strong.
Teaching SKILLZ: Modeling
The instructor demonstrates proper stance (wide feet, bent knees, toes forward) so students can visually copy and adjust their own stance through observation.
Brain SKILLZ: Response Inhibition
Students practice controlling their body and resisting the impulse to step out or lose balance when nudged, staying focused and steady.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting up the Drill
Have 1 instructor for each line
Step 3 – Explain the Rules
First, decide which stance you will be working on.
During this time the instructor will slightly nudge them in different directions.
If you adjust your foot or fall, then you are out.
The goal is to execute your stance without falling or moving to much.
Step 4 – Takeaways
Wide Feet! Remember to have proper foot placement for each stance.
