Description:
The students will practice their KNOWLEDGE of the kimura by continuously initiating and escaping from the submission attempt.
Step 1
- Divide your class into partners.
Step 2 – Explain the rules:
- Have one partner place the other into closed guard.
- They will then perform Kimura.
- If you are on top, your job is to recognize when to roll and do so quickly.
- You will have 30 seconds to do as many as you can.
- If you let go of the arm then your team is out.
- After time is up, switch roles.
Step 3 – Takeaways
- Make sure to maintain a good grip on the arm.
- Be sure to roll quickly if you are on top.
- Turn and face your partner quickly.
Step 4
- Continue until everyone goes 2 – 3 times.
