Equipment needed:
1 kicking target and ring per line
Instructors needed:
1 per Line
Description:
The student will kick the target ten times while keeping his or her feet in the ring. This will help the students build control, gross motor skills, and spatial awareness.
Teaching SKILLZ:
HEALTHY COMPETITION – See which student can sit down the fastest; the instructor can give the lines silly names in order to motivate the students to win as a team.
Brain SKILLZ:
SPEED OF PROCESSING – The student must be able to complete their kicks quicky, and sit down as soon as they finish.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line you will need a ring on the ground, and instructor holding a kicking target.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
You are going to stand in the ring.
When I say “go” you will kick the target ten times and then sit in the ring.
Your goal is to kick the target as quickly as possible without letting your feet touch out of the ring.
On the second round, have the student start over if his or her feet touch outside of the ring.
On the third round, make it a competition to see who is the fastest.
