Description:
The students will learn how to chamber by isolating that particular movement while lying on their backs. This will also improve body awareness, allowing them to begin to build leg strength.
Teaching SKILLZ:
NEUROBICS – While kicking, instead of counting, the instructor can call out colors or animals to keep the students engaged and connect their left and right hemispheres of the brain.
Brain SKILLZ:
WORKING MEMORY – The student must be able to chamber, kick, rechamber, and keep their hands up by their eyes while doing this drill.
Step 1
Divide your students into groups
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line you will need an Instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
You are going to lay on your back with your hands up
Lift one knee up while leaving the other leg straight and on the floor.
We will do 5 kicks without putting out kicking foot on the floor.
On the third turn you can make it a competition to see who can kick the fastest without dropping their foot.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your chamber knee high.
Try not to swing your leg when kicking.
Kick fast!
Step 5
Continue so that each student kicks with their left and right side.
