One kicking shield, 3 small square blocks per line
1 per Line
The students will work on their KICKING in this drill by kicking three stacked objects one at a time without knocking all the blocks over or putting their foot on the ground.
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student can hit all the blocks down correctly, the instructor will do three pushups.
VISUAL PROCESSING – The student must be able to see where the highest block is and kick that block down without knocking down the others.
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line you will need one kicking shield with 3 small square blocks stacked on top and one instructor to spot.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The student will perform a front kick chamber.
Then they will kick the blocks one by one going from top to bottom.
Be careful not to knock all the blocks over.
Make sure they keep their head and knee high to have good balance.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your chamber knee high.
Try not to swing your leg when kicking.
Kick carefully but not too slow.
Continue until each student has 2 turns.
