In this drill the students are going to practice kicking with this leg in the air while standing on different levels of targets.
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student can complete the final level without falling over and kicking correctly, the instructor will do three pushups.
ATTENTION CONTROL – The student must be able to focus on their balance and stay on the pad while doing their kicks.
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
Have the student do three kicks without putting his (her) foot down in between kicks.
You may need to hold the students hand to help him (her) keep balance.
After the student completes the task, have him (her) stand on a target and repeat the task.
Repeat the drill adding a second target, and then a third target.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Work on keeping your balance as you stand on uneven surfaces.
Kick as your support gets stacked higher and higher
Continue until every student has a turn.
