Drill: Word Wizards
Equipment needed: NONE
Instructors needed: Multiple to Monitor
Description: The students will practice having good IMPROVISATION by demonstrating their ability to explain a move so well that the student won’t need a demonstration to know what move they are doing.
Step 1
Have students in lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The first student in line will stand up and face the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • They must lead the instructor through a basic technique.
  • But they are not allowed to demonstrate the move they can only explain it.
  • They must be creative with their verbiage so that the students will pick it up quickly.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Make eye contact with each person.
  • Have lots of enthusiasm as you lead.
  • Use creativity with what you say.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2 turns.
