Teaching SKILLZ: Healthy Competition

Brain SKILLZ: Visual Processing
students must track the blocks, rings, and pad while spinning to align each block accurately on the Wavemaster.
Step 1
Divide your students into even lines.
Step 2 – Setup the drill
  • For each line set 3 blocks beside the wavemaster pad. Then set two rings in front of each pad.
Step 3: Explain the Rules
  • The students must place one foot in each ring.
  • They must pick up a block, spin without their feet leaving the ring and stack it on the Wavemaster top.
  • Both hands must stay on the block as they stack it.
  • The student must stack all 3 blocks without moving their feet from the rings or letting go with either hand. If they do, they must start over.
  • One the second time around, switch stances.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Twist slowly to maintain balance.
  • Pivot feet as your twist.
  • Try to fully twist before you place the block.
