Drill: Hot Toes
Equipment needed: 1 small century Tower per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: Students will practice AGILITY by demonstrating their ability to quickly step onto the tower and then step off of the tower perform two kicks and then does it in reverse. They will be challenged physically by having to step on and off the pad switching feet each time. They will also be challenged emotionally by having to control their emotion as to not get too excited and use so much power that they get off balance and stumble.

Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
First student will stand in front of the small tower.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • When the instructor says “GO” students will step on top of tower, one foot at a time, and then step forward off of the tower.
  • Students will then perform two front kicks
  • Students will then step back on the tower and then step backward again off of the tower
  • Perform two front kicks and then sit down, say “FINISH SIR!”
  • First one to sit and say “FINISH SIR” will get a point.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Keep your eyes open so you don’t miss a step
  • Make sure you don’t fall to show control and balance
  • Keep your knees up for good technique and clear the tower.
Step 5
  • Continue 2 to 3 times through the line
