Drill: 4 Corners
Equipment needed: 4 Cones/1 Dodgeball per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice ROLLING by demonstrating their ability to use their hand-eye coordination to be able knock down different colored cones that are placed in a square around them.
Teaching SKILLZ:
TRICKERY – The instructor can call out colors of cones that are not there, or things that are not colors at all, to trick the students.
Brain SKILLZ:
AUDITORY PROCESSING – The student must be able to hear the color that is being called, and go to the appropriate cone.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The students will have a seat with the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The 1st student will have their dodgeball on the ground, the instructor will call out a color.
  • The student will the walk the ball to the cone by rolling it then they will knock it over.
  • The instructor will call out a few more colors after that.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Keep your hands on the ball the whole time.
  • Keep your eyes open to see the cones.
  • Go as fast as you can to be the best roller.
Step 5
  • Continue until each person has 2-3 turns.
