Dynamic Warm-Up – 7 Minutes
  • Arms – Triangle push-ups for 15 reps
  • Legs – Jump squat scissor kicks for 15 reps
  • Abs – V-sit up for 15 reps
  • Core – Half windmill for 15 reps

Mat Chat – 3-minutes (Includes Water Break)
  • Today we are going to work on ORIENTATION.
  • ORIENTATION means ones position in relation to a specific place or object.
  • This is important because you need to be able to perform your moves while knowing where you are in relation to your partner.

Here are the three ways that we are going to improve your ORIENTATION skills today:

1. Having ORIENTATION to escape your opponent 2. Practice knowing where your center of balance is 3. Knowing where and how to brace yourself to keep a good base
Skill-Building Drills – 30 Minutes

Rock The Boat:

The students will recognize where they need to brace to prevent themselves from being rolled over.

Stand Up:

The students will practice escaping referee’s position with simple techniques
