Dynamic Warm-Up – 7 Minutes
  • Arms – Triangle push-ups for 15 reps
  • Legs – Jump squat scissor kicks for 15 reps
  • Abs – V-sit up for 15 reps
  • Core – Half windmill for 15 reps
  • Sit-Down stretches

Mat Chat – 3-minutes (Includes Water Break)
  • Today we are going to work on ORIENTATION.
  • ORIENTATION means ones position in relation to a specific place or object.
  • This is important because you need to be able to perform your moves while knowing where you are in relation to your partner.

Here are the three ways that we are going to improve your ORIENTATION skills today:

1. Having ORIENTATION competing with a partner 2. Practicing balance while spinning 3. Using leverage to escape
Skill-Building Drills – 30 Minutes

Bull Dozer:

The students will practice spinning around their opponent and then orienting themselves to properly take advantage of the situation, push their partner over and gain full mount.

Domination:

The students will practice having good ORIENTATION by fighting for a dominant position and then using leverage to stand before their partner.
