Active Warm-Up – 7 Minutes
  • Arms -­ Int. triangle push-ups for 15 reps
  • Legs – Squat kicks for 15 reps
  • Abs – Half v-sit up for 15 reps
  • Core – Straight-leg bridge w/ shoulder taps for 15 reps
  • Stand-Up stretches

Mat Chat – 3-minutes (Includes Water Break)
  • Today we are going to work on RHYTHM.
  • RHYTHM means a variation marked by the regular recurrence or natural flow of related elements.
  • This is important because without RHYTHM you cannot work well with your partner.

Here are the three ways that we are going to improve your RHYTHM today:

1. Have RHYTHM with movement. 2. Have RHYTHM while transitioning between positions. 3. Have RHYTHM when applying submissions.
Skill-Building Drills – 30 Minutes

Beat Drop:

The students will break down each step to a takedown and match it to a beat.

Pass by Beat:

The students will slow down and concentrate on pacing themselves to pass the guard.
