One balloon per group
1 per Line
The students will punch the balloon as many times as possible without letting the balloon fall to the ground.
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student can hit the balloon more times than they did on the previous turn, the instructor will have three pushups.
VISUAL PROCESSING – The student must be able to see the balloon in the air and estimate when they should punch.
Divide your students into groups with no more than four students per group.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each group, set up a ring that is approximately the same size as a sparring ring.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
You will punch the balloon in the air, staying inside of the ring, and not letting the balloon touch the ground.
You will keep punching the balloon using both hands.
Count each punch as you hit the balloon.
If the balloon touches the ground, then your turn is over.
Try to punch the balloon ten times before it touches the ground or goes out of the ring.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Work on timing of punches
Work on hand eye coordination
Continue until each student has two turns.
