Punch and Sit
One punching target and ring per line
1 per Line
The student will punch the target four times and then sit in the ring. This will help the students build control, gross motor skills, and spatial awareness.
HEALTHY COMPETITION – See which student can sit down the fastest; the instructor can give the lines silly names in order to motivate the students to win as a team.
SPEED OF PROCESSING – The student must be able to complete their punches quicky, and sit down as soon as they finish.
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line you will need a ring on the ground, and instructor holding punching mitts.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
You are going to stand in the ring.
When I say “go” you will punch the target four times and then sit in the ring.
On the second round, have the students punch while the instructor calls out the left of right hand.
On the third round, have the student punch six times as quickly as possible and then sit.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your hands up.
Continue until each student has 3 turns.
