Ultimate Warm-Up – 7 Minutes

Mat Chat – 3-minutes (Includes Water Break)
  • Today we are going to work on VISION.
  • VISION means to put things in a positive perspective.
  • VISION builds good character, which is an important element of being a Martial Artist.

Here are the three ways that we are going to improve your VISION skills today:

1. Increase your VISION of character words by providing the definition. 2. Increase your VISION of what character is developed best at what belt. 3. Expand your VISION by applying more knowledge to the character words.
Skill-Building Drills – 15 Minutes

Character Jeopardy:

In this drill the students will challenge their knowledge of character by playing a game of jeopardy.
  • Teaching SKILLZ: HEALTHY COMPETITION – The students will compete to answer the questions correctly to earn a point for their team.
  • Brain SKILLZ: LONG TERM MEMORY – The students will practice retaining information through this challenge.

Character Speed Ball:

In this drill the students will play a game of speed ball while repeating the definition of character lessons.
  • Teaching SKILLZ: INSTRINSIC MOTIVATION – The student will apply more effort to pay attention so they can answer the questions correctly within 5 seconds to avoid doing push-ups.
  • Brain SKILLZ: SPEED OF PROCESSING – The students will practice replying quickly to the answer the question correctly.
Partner Stretches: 5-minutes
  • Kicking stretch
  • Laying hip stretch
  • Lay on the rock
  • Rocking straddle stretch
Game – 3-minutes
  • Dr. Dodge Ball
