Drill: Donut Ninjas
Equipment needed: 2 rings per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice CRAWLING by demonstrating their ability to bear crawl through a small area. This will challenge the students physically by requiring them to know where their body is at all times.
Teaching SKILLZ:
HEALTHY COMPETITION – The instructor can have the students race to see who can finish their turn under a certain time limit; The first round having no time limit, the second having ten seconds to finish, and the third round having seven seconds to finish.
Brain SKILLZ:
SPEED OF PROCESSING – The students must be able to army crawl through two rings, which are small for them to fit through. This works on their ability to complete a task quickly and accurately, as the instructor is giving them a time limit, and they must crawl through the small space quickly without getting stuck.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The instructor will hold 2 rings about 4’ apart on the ground.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The 1st student in line will lay on their belly facing the rings.
  • When the instructor says “GO” the student will army crawl trying to fit through the rings.
  • The instructor will give them 10 seconds to make it through the rings.
  • On round 2 give them 5 seconds
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Don’t forget to look where you’re going
  • Use my arms to pull yourself through the ring
  • Try your best to not use your legs
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
