Skill: Humor
Drill: 4 Corners
Equipment needed: A chair, a blindfold and a way to designate 4 corners on the mat.
Instructors needed: A Few to Monitor
Description: The students will develop their AGILITY and TEAMWORK during a fun game of Octopus Tag.
Step 1
  • Set up a target in each corner of the mat (4 corners).
  • Assign each corner a number 1-4.
  • Place a chair in the middle of the mat.
  • Pick one student to be the counter. They will sit on the chair blindfolded.
Step 2 – Explain the Rules:
  • The student will place the blindfold over his or her eyes and count to 10.
  • You will QUIETLY run to a corner.
  • Once the counter reaches the number 10, he or she will call out a corner: 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  • Big foot race (link 1 of yours and 1 of your partners feet into a slammer pad).
  • All of the students in that corner are out and must sit against the wall.
  • Continue until only one student is left.
Step 3 – Additional Rules:
  • When there are only 4 students let, instruct them to each pick a different corner.
  • If the counter calls out an empty, then he or she gets a strike.
Step 4
  • If the counter gets 3 strikes then he or she is done counting and one of the students left in the game gets to be the new counter.
Step 5 – Takeaways:
  • Move quickly from corner to corner.
  • Move quietly as you go.
  • As the counter, listen before picking a corner.
Step 6
  • Continue for several rounds so several students get the chance to count.
