Description:
The students will try to tackle their opponent in 30 seconds while avoiding obstacles.
Teaching SKILLZ: Choices
allow students to choose whether they want to start as the aggressor or the victim, giving them ownership and helping them engage more fully in the challenge.
Brain SKILLZ: Cognitive Flexibility
students must adapt quickly as they navigate the obstacles, shifting their movement strategies in real time to either chase or escape without stepping out of bounds.
Step 1
Pair your students up with a partner and divide the pairs into groups.
Step 2
For each group you will need to set up a ring approximately the same size as a sparring ring, and place three wave bags or large obstacles in the ring as shown in the picture.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules
One person will be the aggressor and the other will be the victim.
When I say “go” the aggressor will chase the victim around the ring and try to tackle them within 30 seconds.
The aggressor needs to pin the victim on the ground within 30 seconds to win.
If the victim or aggressor steps out of the ring at any time then they automatically lose, so they need to be aware of their surroundings and react quickly.
