Description:
In this drill the students are going to run through an obstacle course that has several stations to challenge their flexibility.
Teaching SKILLZ: Intrinsic Motivation
Encourage students to push themselves a little further at each station, focusing on their own progress rather than competing with others.
Brain SKILLZ: Working Memory
Students must remember the sequence of stations and the requirements at each without constant reminders.
Step 1
Divide your students into several lines.
Step 2
Station 1:Holding each leg through the kicking ring for 10 seconds
Station 2:Middle splits head touch for 10 seconds on a small square pad (Put one hand on each side of small square pad and from middle splits, head must touch pad for 10 seconds)
Station 3: 10 round kicks without putting foot down (on each leg) while holding onto a chair for balance
Station 4: 10 front kicks (on each leg) head level and putting foot down between each kick
Step 3
Have the first student in line run through the course while the instructor counts for each station.
Step 4
Continue until each student has a turn.
Step 5
Repeat the drill with 20 seconds/ reps for each station.
