Drill: Know Your Split
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: One for each line
Description: Students will be working on their FLEXIBILITY by holding different splits for 30 seconds. This will challenge students emotional stage of development by making choices that are uncomfortable but make us better!.
Teaching SKILLZ: INTRINSIC MOTIVATION
The instructor can say that if they want to make their instructors proud, they can do their split for five seconds. If they want to make their instructors and their parents proud, they can do their split for ten seconds. If they want to make their instructors, parents, and themselves proud, they can do their split for fifteen seconds. This will motivate the students to do more than they need to, because they want to make people important to them proud.
Brain SKILLZ: LONG TERM MEMORY
The students must be able to answer the instructor’s question correctly and go into the correct split and stretch. This works on their ability to recall information that they have learned in the past, as they must remember what split helps with what kicks.
