Drill: Delegation Dodgeball
Equipment needed: Multiple Dodgeballs
Instructors needed: Multiple to monitor
Description: The students will practice having good DELEGATION by being able to quickly give orders to their teammates in a high-pressure situation. This will help them become better at quickly being able to give out orders and commands on the fly.
Step 1
Have students form 2 teams.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The instructor will divide the students into equal teams.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The students will equip themselves with a dodgeball.
  • When the instructor says “GO” the students will all start to play a normal game of dodgeball.
  • But when a student gets hit the person who hit them must quickly give them an exercise.
  • The student who was hit can’t continue playing until they do their exercise, so it’s important the person that hits them says the exercise fast.
  • The students will keep playing for 2 minutes per round.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Watch the power as you play.
  • Communicate as you play the game.
  • Be fast as you pick the exercises.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has multiple turns.
