Drill: Active Leg Exercise: Jack-in-the-box
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: Several to monitor
Description: The students will build their leg strength by lowering their body in a squat position while their hands are above their head for ten reps.
Step 1
  • Have your students stand with their feet shoulder-width apart and hands behind their head.
Step 2 -Explain the rules:
  • When I say, “go” you will lower your body as far as you can without your bottom touching the ground, as if you were in a tiny box, like a jack-in-the-box, then jump as high as you can.
  • You will do this ten times.
Step 3
  • On each rep, have them try to jump even higher.
