Skill: Control
Drill: Stance Statue
Equipment needed: 1 dice w/ time, 1 dice with stances
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: In this drill the students will work on CONTROL of their body and mind by holding each stance without moving, laughing, or talking!
Teaching SKILLZ:
HEALTHY COMPETITION – The instructor can keep an eye out for students falling out of their stance, or wiggling around and making noise. If they do this, then they have to have a seat and the last person standing will be the winner. You can give the student a title, like “stance champion” or something similar in order to make winning more rewarding, which will motivate the students to stay in their middle stance longer.
ATTENTION CONTROL – This drill focuses on the ability to stay on task for an extended period of time, as the students have to sit in their middle stance for the whole duration of the drill without wiggling or making noise.
