Skill: Dexterity
Drill: Over the Fence
Equipment needed: 2 kicking shields and 1 clapper pad per line
Instructors needed: 1 instructor per line
Description: Students will practice DEXTERITY by demonstrating a flying ninja kick over 1 and 2 kicking shields kicking a clapper pad. Students will be challenged physically by requiring to hop over the pad with one feet switching the engagement of their thigh muscle in one leg over to the other leg and at the same time their core is engaged to keep balance.
Teaching SKILLZ:
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student knocks over the pad during their turn, the student will have ten squat jumps.
Brain SKILLZ:
VISUAL PROCESSING – The students must be able to see where the pad is and judge how high they have to get their leg so they do not hit the pad. This works on their ability to participate in visual activities and make sense of what they see, as they have to make sure their leg is high enough so they do not kick over their pad.
