Drill: How Many?
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: 1 Per Line
Description: Students will practice having good DEXTERITY by demonstrating their ability to do tornado kicks on either side of their body when called out by the instructor.
Teaching SKILLZ: Healthy Competition
Motivate students by challenging them to perform clean tornado kicks on both sides and see who can maintain the best form while responding quickly.
Brain SKILLZ: Speed of Processing
Students must react instantly to the instructor’s callout of left or right, demonstrating their ability to process information quickly and adjust their movement on command.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setup the Drill
Have the students sitting with the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The 1st student in line will stand up and face the instructor.
  • When the instructor says ”GO” the students in the front of each line will start performing any basic technique they know.
  • They will have 10-15 seconds to perform as many basics as possible the student that does the most will earn 1 point for their team.
Step 4 – Takeaways
  • Look good as you play so that you get better.
  • Be loud and say the name of your moves.
  • Hit strong on each move so you get better.
Step 5
  • Continue until each person has 2-3 turns.
