Description:
Students will practice having good dexterity by being able to stop doing jumping jacks and quickly drop into a middle stance.
Teaching SKILLZ:
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – The instructor can award the student with the most points at the end of the game the ability to choose and exercise for their friends to do. This can motivate the students to win so they can choose an exercise for their friends to do.
Brain SKILLZ:
AUDITORY PROCESSING – The students must listen for when the instructor says “stop”, and drop into their middle stance quickly. This works on their ability to listen for audio cues, and respond quickly and accurately.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Instructors to monitors the lines and give commands.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
When the instructor says “go” the students will start to do jumping jacks, listening for the instructor to say stop.
When the instructor says “stop” the students will quickly drop into a strong middle stance. The first ninja to get into a good middle stance will get a point.
This will continue for 5 rounds, which ever ninja has the most points at the end gets to pick an exercise for the other ninjas to do.
