Skill: CONSISTENCY
Drill: Mountain Goats
Equipment needed: 4 small square pads per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good CONSISTENCY by demonstrating their ability to move with a front stance on top of all the pads the students will try to not fall off the pads the whole time.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The instructor will set up the small pads in a staggered pattern so that the students will move down the mat.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The will put one foot on the 1st pad then they will step their other foot on top and step it into a front stance.
  • The student will then continue this pattern until they finish with the small square pads.
  • The students will work to stay on the pad.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Bring your feet together after each rep.
  • Keep a good pace as you move on the pads.
  • Keep your stances wide for a good base.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
