Equipment needed:
5 rings and 5 rubber dots per line
Instructors needed:
One
Description:
The students will hop into rings while collecting dots that are set in between each ring. This is great for helping the students build balance, spatial awareness, gross motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.
Teaching SKILLZ: HEALTHY COMPETITION
The instructor can have the students race to see who can collect all the dots under a certain time limit; The first round having no time limit, the second having ten seconds to finish, and the third round having seven seconds to finish.
Brain SKILLZ: VISUAL PROCESSING
The student must be able to see the rings on the ground, hop to them, and then pick up the dot in front of the ring. This works on their ability to participate in visual activities, as they have to see the specific spot that they need to land in, and judge how strong their jump needs to be in order to get there.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting up the Drill:
For each line you will need to lay out 5 rings with 5 rubber dots in between each ring.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
When I say “go” you will jump into the first ring and pick up the first rubber circle.
Then you will jump into the second ring and collect the second circle, and so forth all the way down.
If you drop a dot, then you must start over.
The person that reaches the end the fastest is the winner.
