The students will practice HOPPING by demonstrating their ability to hop in multiple directions. This will challenge the students physically by requiring them to jump forward, sideways, and backwards without falling or stumbling.
CHOICES – The student can choose which color ring they want to start in each time they come up.
ATTENTION CONTROL – The student must be able to look ahead, despite wanting to look while jumping backwards, until they complete all their jumps.
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line have 4 rings made to look like a diamond.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The first student, will stand up and hop into the ring in front of them.
They will then hop into the next ring on their left.
They will continue to hop throughout the diamond, they must make it all the way around.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your feet together.
Take your time when you hop.
Stay in the ring, try not fall out.
Continue so that each student has at least 2 turns.
