Equipment needed:
1 bar and 2 cones for each line.
Instructors needed:
1 per Line
Description:
Students will practice having good hopping by being able to hop over a bar at different levels.
Teaching SKILLZ:
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student can make it over the bar on the highest level, the instructor will do five pushups.
Brain SKILLZ:
VISUAL PROCESSING – The student must be able to jump over the bar, despite the height of the bar, and land on the other side without falling or knocking over the bar. This works on their ability to do visual activities.
Step 1
Separate your students into lines, based off of how many instructors you have.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The first student will come up and stand in front of the bar.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The bar will start at the lowest level and the student will have to hop with two feet over the bar.
If they are able to make it raise the bar to the second level and have the students hop over it again. This will continue until the students have reached the top level.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your feet together as you are hopping.
Keep your eyes open so that you can always see the bar.
Make sure that you land ninja so that you stay safe while you are hopping.
