Drill: Bouncing Basics
Equipment needed: Multiple rings per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good LISTENING by demonstrating their ability to use active listening as they are demonstrating an activity while also trying to remember basics moves. This will challenge the students mentally by requiring them to listen to the basics as they get called out by the instructor.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in line will stand up and face the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The student will hop into the first ring; the instructor will then call out a basic.
  • The student must demonstrate the basic before moving on to the next ring.
  • This process will continue until each ring has been hopped into.
  • On round 2 call 2-moves per ring to challenge the students more.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Chamber before you do a move.
  • Make sure you keep your feet together as you jump.
  • Aim to land in the middle of each ring.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
