Drill: Around the World
Equipment needed: 4 rings per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good LISTENING by demonstrating their ability to quickly run to a ring after listening for the instructor to call out the corresponding color. This will challenge the students mentally by requiring them to quickly make the connection between the color and the ring.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in line will stand up and be in the middle of all the rings.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The instructor will call out 1 color and the students have to quickly run to the same color ring.
  • The instructor will call out the rest of the colors 1 by 1 the student must quickly run to each ring.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Use your eyes so you can see the ring
  • Listen for the correct color
  • Move fast so that you can earn points.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has multiple turns.
