Description:
The students will work on their INTENSITY by bobbing out of the way of a target and throwing a powerful pop front kick.
Teaching SKILLZ:
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student gets hit with the pad or they do not have a strong kick, then the student will do five pushups. If the student is able to do their kicks without getting hit and remain strong the whole time, then the instructor will do five pushups.
Brain SKILLZ:
VISUAL PROCESSING – The student must see the pad swing over their head, duck, and spot the target so they can kick it. This works on the ability to make sense of what they see, as they must spot the target and kick it.
Step 1
Divide your students into even lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The instructor will swing the mitt at the student’s head.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The student must squat or bob under it and pop jump front kick the mitt.
This will continue for 15 seconds.
If you get hit or start to lose power, your turn is over.
The person who can complete the most will score a point for their team
