2 kicking shields, 1 ball per line
1 per Line
The students will work on their CATCHING by being challenged to do so while standing on an increasing amount of unstable pads.
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student drops the ball or falls down, then they have three squat jumps. If they are able to catch all of the balls without falling over, then the instructor will do three squat jumps.
VISUAL PROCESSING – The students must be able to catch the dodgeballs while standing on pads at different heights. This works on their ability to participate in visual activities, as they must track the moving dodgeballs in the air and catch them while being on slightly unstable ground.
Divide your students into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line you will need one instructor to toss the ball and 2 kicking shields. – Start with one pad on the ground.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The student will stand on the first pad.
The instructor will throw the ball 3 times so that the student can catch it.
After the three catches, add another kicking shield and repeat.
