Drill: Starfish
Equipment needed: 2 cones / 3 rings
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice CATCHING by being able to position themselves to catch rings without using their hands. This will challenge them physically by having them get their hands in the right position so that they can build their coordination.
Teaching SKILLZ:
NEUROBICS – While the student is trying to catch the rings, the instructor can have them say the color of the ring they are about to catch. connect the left and right hemispheres of the brain and keep the students engaged in the activity.
VISUAL PROCESSING – The student must be able to see the ring in the air and spot the middle of the ring so that they can put the cone through the middle. This works on their ability to process visual activity, as they have to track the ring and make sure their hand goes through the middle.
