Pad Drop Challenge
Three small targets per line
1 per Line
The students will block targets that are dropped from above. This will help the students build hand-eye-coordination and spatial awareness.
TRICKERY – The instructor can say words that sound like “go”, like “gopher” or “go-kart”, in order to keep the students engaged and enhance their auditory processing.
SPEED OF PROCESSING – The student must be able to hear the instructor say “go”, and see when the pad is an appropriate distance away.
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line you will need three small square pads and an instructor to drop the pads.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
You are going to stand with your arms folded.
When I say “block,” I am going to drop the pad, and you must block the pad before it hits you in the head.
Your goal is to block three targets in a row.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your eyes on the pad.
Block over your head.
Keep your arm strong.
Continue until each student has three turns.
