The students will practice BLOCKING by demonstrating their ability to low block a pad quickly with good accuracy. This will strengthen their physical and mental stages of development as they must use hand eye coordination to low block the pad when it is flashed.
EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION – If the student can sucessfully hit the pad with the correct block every time, the instructor will do three pushups.
VISUAL PROCESSING – The student must be able to see when the pad is flashed, and low block the pad as soon as they see it.
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each line, you will need an instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
The 1st student will stand facing the instructor with their hands in chamber position.
When the instructor sticks the pad out in front of them the students must quickly low block and hit the pad..
If the student can hit the pad 3 times the instructor will do 3 push-ups.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Keep your eyes looking for the pad.
Keep your hands closed so you have strong arms.
Hit the pad as hard as you can.
Continue so that each student has at least 2 turns.
