Description:
The students will work on their THINKING skills by trying to build a tower.
Step 1
Give each guardian four blocks and spread out around the mat.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Guardians will place one block on the ground, and then student will take a block and place it on top of the other block.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
They will continue to go back and forth until they have used all the blocks and built their tower.
When the tower is built, the student will knock it over.
Then allow the student to stack all four blocks on his or her own, and again, when the tower is built, the student will knock it over.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Encourage your student to stack the block correctly, but you may need to adjust it so that they don’t fall.
Try to get your student to be gentle when stacking the blocks.
Encourage the student to not knock over the tower until all of the blocks are stacked, but anticipate that they may knock the tower over early because of impulse.
Step 5
Continue as many times as you can until time is called (approximately 2-minutes).
