Drill: Over Under
Equipment needed: 6 Cones & 3 Poles Per Line
Instructors needed: One per line
Description: Students will work on their THINKING by looking at an obstacle and determining whether to go over or under, then remembering to punch or kick.
Step 1
Divide your class into lines.
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Alternate high and low obstacles for each line.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • Students will step over the low obstacles and then perform 4 kicks.
  • Then they will crawl under the high obstacles and then perform 4 punches.
  • Once you reach the end, turn around and continue again all the way back.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Encourage students to go by themselves when possible.
  • Remind them to kick and punch if they forget.
  • Congratulate them when they figure it out correctly.
Step 5
  • Continue so that everyone gets at least 2 turns.
