Drill: Which One
Equipment needed: 1 clapper/1 small square pad per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good OBSERVING by demonstrating their ability to use their eyes to be able to quickly identify what move they need to do by looking at a target. This will challenge them by requiring them mentally by requiring them to be able to make a good choice while under pressure.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student from each line will stand up and face away from the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The instructor will have both pads in their hands.
  • When the instructor says “GO” the student will turn around and look to see which pad the instructor is holding.
  • They will then do kicks if it‘s the clapper or punches if it’s the small square pad.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Count loud so that you keep track of your strikes
  • Have strong technique as you play
  • Wait for the instructor to say “GO”
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2 turns.
