Drill: Make the Shot
Equipment needed: Multiple dodgeballs per line/1 bucket per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good DURABILITY by demonstrating their ability to demonstrate multiple abdominal workouts without losing for or technique. This will challenge them physically as they must engage the correct muscles in order to successfully get up.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in each line will lay down in front of their bucket which will be about 6’ away.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The instructor will place multiple dodgeballs next to the student.
  • When the instructor says “GO” the student will grab one ball and hold it over their head.
  • Once they sit all the way up they may shoot the ball into the basket.
  • Once the student has made 3 shots in the basket they are done and the next person can rotate in.
  • On the following rounds you can set a time limit to make the shot to add to the challenge.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Make sure you use the right power when shooting the ball.
  • Keep your hands over your head on your sit-up.
  • Keep going even if it take you a lot of shots.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
