Drill: Laser Jumps
Equipment needed: 1 Foam Noodle per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good DURABILITY by demonstrating their ability to demonstrate multiple jumps over a noodle that is moving across the ground at varying speeds. This will challenge the students physically by requiring them to use their leg muscles for an extended period.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in each line will stand up and face the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • On round one the students must maintain their jumps for 10 seconds.
  • When the instructor says “GO” they will start to move the noodle across the ground slowly back and forth.
  • The student will jump over the noodle every time it is close.
  • On round 2 you can have them go for 15 seconds.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Brings your knees up as you jump
  • Keep jumping even if your legs get tired
  • Use 2 feet when you jump for more power
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
