Drill: Super Circles
Equipment needed: 1 ring per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good DURABILITY by demonstrating their ability to demonstrate multiple rotations of a ring which will start to tire out the shoulder muscles. This will challenge the students physically the shoulders can be a weaker muscle for kids on the spectrum so this may be a tough challenge for some students.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student from each line will stand up and face the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The student will grab the ring in their hands in the 10 and 2 position and they will then extend their arms.
  • The instructor will count out ten turns where they have to rotate their arms so that one is on the bottom and the other is on top.
  • On the next rep, they’ll rotate to the other side, this will continue until the student reaches 10 reps.
  • On round 2 have them do 15 reps.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Arms straight to get stringer
  • Turn the wheel to target the right muscles
  • Keep going even if your arms get tired
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2 turns.
