Skill: DURABILITY
Drill: Don’t Wobble
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good DURABILITY by demonstrating their ability to stay strong in their push up position even when the instructor is trying to know them over. This will challenge the students mentally by requiring them to push when it the drill starts to get hard.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student from each line will go into their push-up position.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • When the instructor says “GO” the instructor will walk around and lightly move the student to try to make them wobble.
  • The student wants to stay strong and not let the instructor move them.
  • The student must hold the position for 10 seconds on round 1.
  • On round 2 the students can go for 15 seconds.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Keep your body straight so you’re stronger.
  • Keep your hands under your shoulders.
  • Don’t give up even if it gets tough.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has 2-3 turns.
