Drill: Static Arm Exercise: Seal Holds
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: Several to monitor
Description: The students will build arm strength by holding their upper body up with their palms.
Step 1
  • Have your students lay on their bellies with their palms on the ground at their side, right below their shoulders.
Step 2 -Explain the rules:
  • When I say, “go” you will raise your head and belly off the ground using your palms, just like a seal.
  • You will hold the seal position and count to ten.
  • While you are counting, try not to move your body at all.
Step 3
  • Try to have them keep their hands lower towards their belt.
