Drill: Dumbbell Press
Equipment needed: 1 yoga ball/2 dumbbells per line
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice having good STAMINA by demonstrating their ability to use light dumbbells to increase the strength in their arms by pushing the weights over their head for multiple reps.
Step 1
Divide your students into lines
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
The 1st student in line stand up and face the instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • They will lay down with their back on the ball, they will then hold the weights next to their ribs.
  • On round 1 the students will do 5 reps pushing the weights over their head.
  • On round 2 the students will do 10 reps pushing the weights over their head.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Be comfy when you’re on the ball.
  • Keep your feet on the ground the whole time.
  • Don’t give up as you play.
Step 5
  • Continue until each student has multiple turns.
