Drill: Bull Dozer
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: A few to monitor
Description: The students will practice their ORIENTATION by spinning around their opponent and then orienting themselves to properly take advantage of the situation, push their partner over and gain full mount.
Step 1
  • Divide your class into lines with their partners.  
Step 2 – Explain the rules:
  • One partner will go to the hands and knees and the other will lay across their back.
  • When the instructor says “go”, they will spin around their partner.
  • They will also make sure to push the head down and out of the way.
  • The next time the instructor says go, they will reach for the elbow and leg/ankle as they use their chest to push their partner over.
  • Then they must get into side control and then full mount.
  • Switch roles.
Step 3 – Takeaways
  • Keep the head out of the way at all times.
  • Remember to reach across for the elbow and ankle to take away their base.
  • If your on the bottom maintain a solid foundation and do not fall over.
Step 4
  • Continue until everyone goes 4 – 8 times.
