Skill: COMMITMENT
Drill: 1 Foot Challenge
Equipment needed: None
Instructors needed: 1 per Line
Description: The students will practice COMMITMENT by demonstrating their ability to lead an exercise while balancing on 1 foot. This will challenge the students physically and mentally by requiring them to keep their foot off the ground and think about what they need to do at the same time.
Step 1
Divide your students into groups
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
For each group, you will need the group to form a circle with an instructor.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
  • The instructor will choose one student to be the leader for the exercise.
  • The student must lead an exercise on one foot.
  • They must explain it, demo it, and move around during it for them to pass the challenge.
  • If the student can do the whole exercise without dropping their foot they will earn 1 point.
  • The person with the most points in their group at the end will be the winner. Have the students start with 5 reps on later rounds increase the reps to make it tougher.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
  • Be as loud as you can during the drill
  • Stay focused on the task at hand.
  • Stay strong its ok to get tired but do your best to keep your foot up.
Step 5
  • Continue so that each student has at least 2 turns.
