Description:
The students will practice their JUMPING skills by attempting to jump over a bar.
Step 1
Give the guardians each one bar and have the guardians and their students spread out around the mat. (You can have pairs share if necessary).
Step 2 – Setting Up the Drill:
Give a quick review of how to kick: Hold your hands up, pick your foot off the ground and snap it out and back in, and bend your knee as much as you can on the snap.
Step 3 – Explain the Rules:
Guardians will lay the bar on the ground.
Guardians will then hold their students hands for balance.
The student will jump over the bar and then do two kicks; and continue for 4 reps.
After 4 reps, the guardian will take a turn.
Step 4 – Takeaways:
Don’t rush your ninja.
Cheer when they jump over the bar.
Let them do most of the work so they can build up their leg muscles.
Step 5
Continue as many times as you can until time is called (approximately 2-minutes).
